Graduated in Economics and Business from Bocconi University in Milan Stefano Meloni began his career in 1970 at Citibank where over 15 years he held increasing levels of responsibility in Italy and abroad, becoming Country Head for Italy.
In 1985 he founded and managed Eptaconsors, an investment bank controlled by several leading Italian Savings Banks and Banco di Sardegna, where, in 1993, he was appointed General Manager.
In 1993 he joined the Montedison Group as General Manager with responsibilities in Finance, later in 1994 and until 2001 assuming also the role of Chairman and General Manager of the Eridania Béghin-Say Group listed in Paris. He was a member of the CMF (Conseil des Marchés Financiers) and the Advisory Council of the Banque de France, where he retains the title of Counselor.
In 2001 he founded and led Hedge Invest as Chairman until 2010 and, in 2004 he founded and led Valore Reale as Chairman until 2013.
From 2002 to 2004, he worked with the Ferrero Group as Executive Vice Chairman of Ferrero International Luxembourg and Executive Vice Chairman of P. Ferrero & C. Alba. He was Advisor to Barclays Private Equity as well as Senior Advisor for Italy at CVC Capital Partners and Investindustrial.
From 2017 until January 2025 he Chaired Unieuro.
