The winner of the Prix du Roman Fnac (Fnac Fiction Prize), which is awarded to a French or foreign novel every year to mark the start of the new literary season, will be announced on September 8.
This prestigious literary prize was created in 2002 and its recipients often go on to win other awards. The winner is selected by a trusted cross-section of professionals (400 booksellers) and the public (400 Fnac members).
This year, 30 books were selected as candidates for the 2022 award. This list has now been whittled down to just five finalists, (four French-language and one English-language; three male and two female authors) who are now competing for the top spot on the podium:
